For the last few weeks, I’ve been trying to come up with some way to work all the little thing I’ve been enjoying lately into my posts. I’ve discovered so many new things since being in England and none of them necessarily warrant their own posts, but I still wanted to mention them! So I’ve decided to do this as a weekly series to share with you some of the little things I’ve been loving lately.
I have insanely tangly hair. Like I’m talking sometimes I cry when I’m brushing it, and never even think about brushing it wet. The other day I was forced to shower in the morning, and honestly took my hair brush on the train with me because it would be less painful to brush it when it was a little bit more dry. That moment convinced me that I definitely needed to get something to help! Insert: Tangle Teezer.
Tangle Teezers are relatively well known hair brushes, and I actually own one of the original ones. I like it well enough, but found it difficult to use, and it’s actually the only brush my boyfriends cat will let us use on him, so it’s his now. However as they’re made in the UK, they’re much easier to get and have a huge variety of options. I ended up picking up the wet brush, and it has been life changing. I use it on dry hair too, and it’s so much better than the original tangle teezer as it won’t fall out of your hand. Hand in hand with the tangle teezer has been…
Yup, the kind made for children. I definitely used this kind as a child and had a total flashback the first time I used it, but it actually works! I was in Boots 5 minutes before close and surprisingly couldn’t find a single detangling product in the haircare section, so when Andrew found this in the kids section I figured it couldn’t hurt to give it a try. Turns out I really like it! It’s a nice scent and doesn’t weigh my hair down at all, and most importantly it does what it says it will!
Terry’s Chocolate Oranges
This one might be weird. But Terry’s chocolate oranges are honestly my favourite sweet. And for some reason Canadian retailers have decided that they are a Christmas specific thing. Only once a year for my favourite chocolate! The worst. Imagine my euphoria when I realized you can get them year round here! And the other day I found them at Tesco for one pound each. One pound! So I bought 4. I had zero shame then and still feel none now.
British goddamn Wildlife
Granted we’re staying in the middle of nowhere, but there are SO many animals here! Rabbits, squirrels, so many kinds of birds. There’s even a peacock and two peahens who live on the property.
So there we have it, a few of the little things I’ve been enjoying during my first few weeks in England! Hope you guys enjoyed and I can’t wait to keep sharing them with you!
